Different Category Icons - Version 1.1

"Are you bored of using the same old 'on.gif' and 'off.gif' to show new posts? Well, now you have a choice!" - Erm.. Yeees!!  ;D

This mod (currently only for BoardMod) will allow you to edit the name of the category icons for each category.
It has also includes the option to use an "Item Key" so your users know what is new and not new. Some of you might remember this as a mod I wrote for YaBB 1 - Gold.

Pictures:
Link 1 - Admin
Link 2 - Normal
Link 3 - Item Key enabled

Download:
Before you download there are 2 small things you should know. If you installed the hack "Own Moderator Column" the item key most likely won't work. It didn't in Y1G, so I'm guessing it wont here either.
Secondly if you have no boards in your category (I dunno why you wouldn't!, and you most likely don't) the HTML will be messed up. But this shouldn't apply to anyone! ;D

Click here to download the Mod.

help!!!

The images on the left don't seem to show up :S.

UPDATE
Hmmm, i seemed to have fixed that by re-setting all the images. Problem now = images don't change. Same image for no new posts and new posts.

hmmmm, i've uninstalled it :S. I can't get it to work. I'll wait until you've killed the bugs again ;)

P.S. It might be me being stupid though.

You ran the dbscript yes?
Can you post a picture of what you get?
Aswell as the admin center? And when you click the image, i mean right click what is the link you get?

It works for me on localhost anyway. I'll make it compat with other mods when its working..  ;)

yep

Its not worth a screenshot (i can't be bothered to install it again because it is late). What happens is that the forum doesn't distinguish between new posts and old posts, thus the new post image is always displayed for a category.

The unlinked image (the first error i fixed) linked to my board, without any GIF or JPEG or PHP file.

I think task 4 in BoardIndex.php is a part of Vorys mod ;). But when i overwrite it, it kills the forum, lol. So, i uninstalled vorys.

Now, i have none of them installed :|

Hope this was enough help?

okay, so it saves the images right? Have you trued using the Item key?
Does the mod tell you the right new post and no new post image? It should do anyway!
I'll have another look but I don't know what might be wrong if it installs okay.
I hope you didn't run the db script twice anyway!  ::)

I'll have a try again tomorrow. See what it does then :(. If i have problems, i'll post them here.

Does the mod tell you the right new post and no new post image?
Yeah, it does (i think).

okay, so it saves the images right?
yes, it saves the images right. I checked in phpMyAdmin

Have you trued using the Item key?
No, i haven't tried it yet. I was too tired, and people were complaing about the forums being half dead!

i got it to work. I deleted a couple of lines:

Quoteif($row_cat[iconoff] == "") { $row_cat[iconoff] = "off.gif"; }
         $new = "<img src=\"$imagesdir/$row_cat[iconoff]\" alt=\"$txt[334]\">";

From that i deleted:

Quoteif($row_cat[iconoff] == "") { $row_cat[iconoff] = "off.gif"; }

and from:
Quoteif($row_cat[iconon] == "") { $row_cat[iconon] = "on.gif"; }
               $new = "<img src=\"$imagesdir/$row_cat[iconon]\" alt=\"$txt[333]\">";

i deleted:
Quoteif($row_cat[iconon] == "") { $row_cat[iconon] = "on.gif"; }

I might have done something stupid (i can't program in PHP at all), but this works for me ;).

Erm, actually that code is needed.   ::)
If you have no image names saved in your DB, the images will show up blank. That's why I added it! lol - don't know why it caused you a problem though...

Actually, if iconoff isn't a global constant, you should use row_cat['iconoff'] instead. (otherwise it'll look for an entry in row_cat with the value of const iconoff! Using ' it'll search for an entry in the row_cat array with keyname "iconoff"..)

I was always confused about using single quotes like that. Same goes for english.lng, I wasn't sure why sometimes you needed to define them as $txt['01'] and other times as $txt[01] in the same file, not seperate!
Thanks.  ;)
