[Done 1.5.1 > 1.5.4] Add More Smilies 2.1

OK I am new to this thread. There are 57+ pages and I read the first 10 and am lost.

1) To install with BoardMod SE, place Smilies.php in your sources directory, and smiliesdbmod.php in your main directory (with settings.php). Execute smiliesdbmod.php by going to it in your browser. This will create the necessary MySQL tables. Now, delete the file.

OK I have done the above no problem.

BoardmodSE: I can not find this anywhere. I have searched this whole forum for a live link and have googled for it as well. Does anybody have a live link for it?

I tried Boardmod v2.5.3 - I downloaded my entire yabbse install from my website. Then I put the smilies21.mod file in the latest boardmod yabbse folder. I then pointed to the index.php folder in my root yabbse folder on my hard drive and tried to install and got the following error:

Just installed on my fairly well-modded 1.5.4 board, with no problems!

Well, actually there was ONE little issue -- I told it I wanted the smilies folder to be in myboarddirectory\yabbimages\smilies, but it pointed to myboarddirectory\smilies anyhow. So I just moved the folder and images -- no biggie.

Big P, got a nice little glitch for ya to work with.

If you add an image inside an URL tag, it's adding a very ugly border around it.

[.url=http://www.someurl.com]text here [.img]http://imgurl.com[/img] [/url] returns the result in the below listed picture.  Testing here too.

YaBB SE ROCKS

Update:  Okay, it's not replicatable with YSE.  [Unknown] says that we need to add a border="0" for the images.  Can you let me know what file and where I need to change this?

sircharlz, make sure the version of your yabb se install is the same as required for the mod (1.5.1 -> 1.5.4). Plus the smilies mod must be smilies 2.1. Either that or you have many other mods installed, and they have conflicts with the smilies mod...

well, the CSS is taken directly from your template.php file. So, by editing that you can change the appearence of the popup. You could also open up Smilies.php, and edit the colours through that.

I didn't get a reply on this.  Any insight?  

If I use a smilie from the smilie list and a regular smilie from the regular post page it won't display the original smilie.  It will display a small ( . ) period.  I have to choose atleast two original smilies.  It seems to disregard the first one.

Because when it opens the list of Smilies, it leaves this way ":hi:" with the points at the beginning and in the end, I want that only it is at the beginning, is possible to be made that modification?

That happens when read the directory "smilies".

yeah, but you'd have to edit subs.php and smilies.php to do so. I dont actually have the files here but, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you know any PHP.

I would like to install this mod, but I have 1.4.0, and I'm afraid it won´t work. Do you know another mod like this that works on YaBBSE 1.4.0? Thanks in advance.

P.D. I don´t want to upgrade to 1.5.x because I use a mod not compatible with 1.5.x

BigP, found another error that you need to update/fix.

It's supposed to be resizable, not resize.
