I fixed it and it's all working well now, guess I'm not so bloody dumb after all.

You need virtually no brain power to follow the step by step instructions given with the mod in readme.htm
Your problem was the SQL statements weren't run anyway, so when you used smiliesdbmod.php the problem was fixed.

first of all thanks to Big P to create this mod, it's great !
now my problem, i dunno why but my smilies image don't show up in message, everything is ok with the mod, or at least it seems ok, i can configure and add smilies, when i click in a smile in a image i works fine and add's the code, but when the message is posted it only show the code, seems like the code is not linked to smilies or cannot get them...
the only way i can made my smilies appear is to put the complete link in smile, instead of :) i must use http://blablabla/smiliefile.gif

Maybe the original mod-creator could clarify things by writing a FAQ on this mod, making it sticky so people will be able to follow all the step-by-step instructions they want.

actually i wade througt the 23 pages last week when trying to find the resolution to other problem, but forgoted this one because it mean no concern to me... that's why i haven't checked all post again...

No, but perhaps 1 or 2 pages wouldn't hurt.

The original mod-author? You mean me right? The original mod design isn't even recognisable compared to this version thanks.
Anyway, saying don't use the YaBBPak version should be a good enough indication on the matter don't you think? Use boardmod to avoid any problems.

An FAQ? No point, the final version of this mod won't include a yabbpak version, it's more trouble than it's worth. It'll only install on certain servers..

So.. why not remove the YabbPak version from any posts, so people have to use the boardmod problem?

All I can say to your problem, is it's something you did. Run the .php file that came with it, and that'll fix the mysql tables. Make sure the files are edited correctly.

All that needs to be done. Then it will work. *I* got it to work, and I had no clue in hell what it was I was doing.

drewsteez, What version of the mod did you use (ie. boardmod or yabbpak). If boardmod, did you run the smiliesdbmod.php file? If not run it. If you used the yabbpak version, the problem was it didn't install your sql settings, so again use the smiliesdbmod.php as instructed in the boardmod section of readme.htm

As I've warned the yabbpak version works in mysterious ways. Try sticking to boardmod for your own sake.

i used the yabbpack to apply the smiliey mod and it said it was ok to apply it after it was tested ....after i hit the back link  i got the error. i dont have a clue really what im doing. im learning as i go along. what should i do since i ran it thru the yabbpack? i just wanna fix this first b4 i upgrade to YaPP.

can u walk me thru it? forgive my lack of knowledge in all of this i just do music lol

Read readme.htm, and follow the instructions.

Okay, put smiliesdbmod.php (from the zip file) in the same directory as your Settings.php file. The run it in your browser, like so: http://mysite.com/forum/smiliesdbmod.php
Then delete the file.

what do i do to rememdy the problem i already have? in my prior posts?  i want to get rid of the problem that says error in ln 829
