they can't seem to work
i see the smilies been add @ the rest of the smilies but when i click on a smiley he adds the code but when i watch the result i only see the code when i should see the image

You installed it with YaBBPak ? Install it with BoardMod - look in this board or the other Mod Boards.

we've the same fault as da dud, everything works fine except this..
the only way to clear this is using boardmod and installing it again? ... i have to shoot somebody right now rrrrrrr

How many more times are people going to post a question and not even read the page before?!
Your "problem" has been given a fix so many times! - Anyway, da dude and Oli, the problem is YaBBPak did not install the last step. Open smilies.mod, and go to this section:
<edit file>sources/subs.php</edit file> (near the end).
The following 2 steps need to be done manually, so download your subs.php and manually edit it. Then reupload it.

i did the boardmod version and yes i ran the smiliesdbmid.php and also when i ran it is said Error updating the DB. SQL Error: Table 'yabbsmilies' already exists

That is because you installed a previous version of this mod and you are no updating. Did you run the query given in readme.htm for people who were updating? Well the Smilies Table has changed since the 1.3 version, so you'll need to either:
a) Run the query (all info in readme.htm)
b) remove the table, and add the new one.

Erm, why did you edit the last 2 steps manually with boardmod? It should install fine, no other mod should edit what I edit there.
Do you just get the code :smiley: printed out? That's to do with the last 2 steps in "PackMan" only. Not boardmod, so I hope you didn't missunderstand anything previously posted.

Hello? Are you listening? WHY did you manually install the last 2 steps if you installed the mod using BoardMod? The ONLY reason you would have to manually add the last 2 steps to Subs.php is if the YaBBPak left those steps out (which it does irregularily), NOT with boardmod. Do you understand?
I have no idea why you did that, as I have stated above those lines shouldn't of changed at all.
The problem you listed, shows the code isn't being replaced with the image by subs.php, IF you had "manually" done those steps yourself, you wouldn't have any problems.

I already figured it out you gave me the answer, I missread an earlier post and thought installing w/BM I had to manually edit the last 2 steps.

uh... this might piss you off, but I dunno what I'm doing.  I installed it with YaBBpak, but it would only show the code and not the gif.  Then I tried installing it with Boardmod and I got errors 9 and 11.  Yes I know this has already been answered, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to be editing.
