You dont by any chance still have the yabb pak version installed do you??
Here is what you can do with yabbpak installed. Download your subs.php, and manually add the last step (like in smilies.mod). Its most likely YaBBPak didn't do the last step, the part that changes the code (the most important step). Just do it manually like Daniel said above.

Okay, I've reuploaded the file.
All the fixes are in place like Trushna noticed. I put up the proper db query, dont know why i missed that before
Tazz good to hear its working. That last problem was actually a problem with YaBBpak itself. It does that sometimes lol.
As for me leaving out the $imagesdir/ part, that would only affect people who were using the Smiley Block and changed the name of their images directory.

Just a little question. What way do you people view your smilies? With the Smiley Block, vbstyle smilies or just the normal way?  

Using the Smiley Block on my site. Wish i could get rid of the original smiles and just have all of them in that block. You know of a way I can do this?

If you install it with yabbpak twice, uninstall and the two times and take the boardmod version to install it.
I have problems with yabbpak version too.

lol. Completely uninstall the mod.
Then install it either with BoardMod or YaBBpak (there is no need to run the db script as when you installed the yabbpak it did that for you).
Now, if you installed with YaBBpak, open up either smilies.mod or smilies.mod.yp.
In the mods you will find tags like this:
<edit>
Sources/Subs.php
</edit>

The following 2 steps aren't being installed in YaBBpak for some people. So manually install them. ie. open subs.php and search for code and replace it etc.
Then upload your modified subs.php. And your done.

No they're saved in the database.

Smilies is designed to install on a "clean" yabb board. If you've messed around editing files, or still have the yabbpak version installed (which is what it sounds like), I really can't help you. Your best bet is to over write your files with new ones (not your db). That way Smilies *will find the strings.

I had a clean se 1.4 install and had also some problems with the yabbpack , it did not extract smilies.php and smiliesdbmod.php to its place nor the smileys up and down.... lol .. I think it is safe to say that the the yabbpack version has some flaws. but!!!! I just uploaded the files manually and uploaded the subs.php after I run the boardmod and everything is working fine now, great,great mod thanks again for all your work on it, it is really appreciated.
