I install the yabbpak version of this mod and everything appeared to install ok. I could add new smiles and everything. However, when I try to post using the new smileys it doesn't change the smiley shorthand into the actual smiley ... the text stays in the post.

eg I have a smiley called "blah.gif". I set it up in the smiley admin section that :blah: is blah.gif but when posted it is still has :blah: in text ... it isn't converted to the smiley.

Any ideas what the problem would be? I unistalled the mod and reinstalled it ... the same thing keeps on happening.

Try to install it with BoardMod on your PC and copy only the 'subs.php' to your server or uninstall the pak version and re-install it with BoardMod.

I see the page but when i put an image name is not seems to work the automatically smiley code and description.

You have to click on the upper "Submit changes". After that, the new icon should appear in the lower part of the screen.

Im using the ver that came out before 1.5, any major benifits in upgrading?

Code really cleaned up! More effective.

The problem I saw before with code not chnaging to a smiley was odd. I never really found out why it wouldn't work. It works for me anyway! If in doubt install with the BoardMod version, it has been tested and works fine. Even the YaBBPak version works for me, so thats pretty odd why it doesn't work for some people...

Just installed it on a clean board using YabbPak and the installation hasn't quite gone according to plan -

I had to upload smileys.php manually since it didn't appear and the link from the admin console wouldn't work.

Now, after uploading the smileys, I get the error message

when I click on the "Get more" link in the new message window.

I disabled vbstyle smiley display, but now when a smiley is added to a message, the picture does not appear in the image, only the code for it

Any idea?

For the error:
- Check if template.php exists or try to rename 'template.html' in 'template.php'.

For the display problem:
- Try to install it with BoardMod on your PC and copy only the 'subs.php' to your server.

Checked for template.php in the YaBB directories, found nothing at all, hence couldn't rename anything

To be honest, I didn't want to have to download my entire YaBB directory - if I wanted to install using BoardMod then I would have done it that way to start off with

lol. In your yabbse directory(or whatever) you have a file called template.html right? No template.php.
What you have to do is open Smilies.php from your sources directory, and search for "template.php".
Replace template.php with template.html and let me know how you get on

I would really like to have this mod back.
I uploaded the package file.

When I go to the YaBBPack center I get this error

When I go to browse for new packages I get the following errors and nothing else.

Lol, I take it that the first errors are in the YaBBPak? Well, I only got it working first, never really checked for that. Whoops. I'll get another fix up.
Hmm, bit of a mistake with the query too! lol. Thanks Trushna, at least the smiliesdbmod.php works for other people, as does the yabbpak queries!

Cynda, how about waiting 'til I get the next version up? BTW, thanks to Daniel D. in the thread for helping people out. Glad he has an understanding of the mod -lol.

Working great for me, except i had to edit my Subs.php manually (I used the non-boardmod se version)

It didn't add the code in but once I added it into my subs.php file all is working great.

Okay, I've reuploaded the file.
All the fixes are in place like Trushna noticed. I put up the proper db query, dont know why i missed that before
Tazz good to hear its working. That last problem was actually a problem with YaBBpak itself. It does that sometimes lol.
As for me leaving out the $imagesdir/ part, that would only affect people who were using the Smiley Block and changed the name of their images directory.

Just a little question. What way do you people view your smilies? With the Smiley Block, vbstyle smilies or just the normal way?

Ahhhh... I am having trouble with this

I am having the same problem as the other guy. I did it the yabbpack way, It was set up alright, I was able to add all my smilies, and when I enter, for example, :vader:, it doesnt show up. When I try to do a BoardMod version locally I get an error on step 6 or 7.
