Hey Big P, how hard would it be for you to modify this to work with Message Icons instead? I am happy with the smilies already built in YaBB SE, but I think this be a great mod for my news announcement board where the message icons can match the topics on the post. For example if I am posting news on xbox I can select a xbox message icon.

Yup, that what I was talking about. "The message icons" I figure your smiley codes pretty much has all the underlinig codes for it. Just needs to be changed abit. What be really kewl is if it can be set only for announcement boards, but that is not that important.

Anyways thanks. Not time to get back and finish installing all my programs back on the computer.

I'm not even sure if I can do it, I really need to finish off Smilies SE 1.5, I made a lot of progress today but I'm pissed off with the smiley block option. The javascript is very confusing, especially when I have to translate perl to php with it! ;'(

More than anything else its the javascript. I'm thinking of another way of doing it, which should be easier, but I can't do it now as I'm in a library!   I'll try give it a going over when I get home, if I can get to use the bluddy computer! Sigh..

all okay then? 1.5 is coming along slowly unfortunitly, I'm very busy with school atm, I really don't have the time to make big progress, and just trying to change from perl to php is hard as it is. It's a little confusing how its written...

The javascript is a little confusing to work out but it makes use of javascript array's so as not to make a hell load of code on the page and making things slow . The old way loads millions of unneeded lines in - bhra and my way loads in barely anything. The new perl one is very fast as compared to theold one and that's why the code may be confusing but can i lend a hand?

if someone decides to post a string of smilies something like this happens:

Omario, give me a run down on how you write the javascript for the smiley block, what you add for each smiley ect. so Im can just write it in PHP.

Severina, Why would anyone want to post so many smilies in a row!? I dunno  how to do that, but it seems multiple images in a row hold up the table..

There are changes to the language file. I have found using boardmod does not correctly apply the MOD for some people and boards, therefore i suggest doing it manually.
