Hi,this works fine for me but it always returns to the first page of the thread.... Any idea how I could make it return to the last page of the thread.Thanx.

This is the first mod I'm trying to install.  I was able to add the server just fine, but when I try to click browse, I get:

Does anyone know what this means?

The mod definitely doesn't work with the latest version. Someone who knows what they're doing seriously needs to refit it to work.

Also, I had a problem with it on the previous version. It would close the whole browser if you marked a board as read, and would open up a new window when you went into a reply... Annoying as heck.


Hope to see it soon! My boardlings won't let me convert the other board until this feature is secure... <rolls eyes>

Sorry....I haven't upgraded my site to 1.4 yet.  I plan on doing this next week (July 16), so I'll post an updated version then.

Version .07 for YABBSE 1.4 is ready!

Ok, I've created the new version and tested it on a clean - brand new install of YABBSE 1.4 and it works fine.

You can get the file through the YaBBPak Center in the admin control center of your board.  Go to the download section, add my website to the list, then browse and download the file.

I left the previous version out there for anyone still running YABBSE 1.3, so make sure you download the right version.

As I said, I tested on a clean install of YaBBSE 1.4 and also tested on my upgrade of 1.3 and it also works.  If you have any questions or problems, please post here or email me.

Seams to be working ok, so far.  
1 thing i have noticted that we you post a message which then takes you back to the board index and shows that thread as read but if you then click search new it shows you its as unread, is this normal?

That's actually another change that you can make (but I didn't include it in my mod).  The reason it happens is that even though you posted the message, you haven't actually read it yet....so it shows up as unread.  To fix this, we adjust the post process so that immediately after you post, you are taken to the message you just posted (and thus it is marked read).  Others have already posted directions for this, but I'll post it again here:

FAQ:  How can I adjust my board so that my own posts don't show up as NEW:

Open your posts.php file.

Search for the line (around line 817 in mine):

Switch the comment marks to the second line:

   $yySetLocation = "$cgi;board=$board;action=display;threadid=$thread;start=new";
//   $yySetLocation = "$cgi";

As you can tell the YABB Authors in their infinite wisdom included the abililty to do this in their code.  All you have to do is uncomment the first line and comment out the second line.  The $yySetLocation is a variable that tells the board where to go once the msg is posted.  The first line tells it to return to the same post, the second line tells it to go to the board index.
