Just wondering if there's any perceptible difference in the time it takes to load a page in your browser? I just enabled output compression....

It goes much faster!! (I thought it was my ISP who was speeding up and the time of day, Midnight over here)

awesome fast now! Even the images go fast like hell now :o
and in addition, you can't view the source code of the page (at least in IE 5.5, NS6.2 does) ;D

can someone explain how this compression works? is there a packed file transfered to the user or what? Does it work on old browsers too?

IE6 shows the Sourcecode ;D

IE 5.5 can't even save the file to disk, it just saves an empty file ;D
