A few Mod-related questions

Well, first and foremost ... I'm a php/forums/mysql/yabb newbie, and within the week of installing my first YaBB Y1G board, having it crash twice, converting my YaBB SE board, having that crash once... and then the past few hours... I must say I've learned alot, and am very thankful for the amount of assistance I've recieved (particularly from Jeff).  So a sincere THANK YOU to all developers involved.

Now, onto my questions:

a) When will the add more membergroups mod be availble?  I'm DYING for this one =)

b) Is it possible to write an add more membergroups mod that will let users select a certain stream, say FIGHTER, WIZARD, RANGER, BARD, and as they post their rank changes according to the amount of posts they've made, while staying in their stream?

i.e. fighter (0 posts) ==> warrior (50) ==> barbarian (100) ...etc.?

bard (0 posts) ==> thief (50) ==> assassin (100) .. etc?

That would be PERFECT for my board if someone could help design this.  =)  I'm a complete (and I mean COMPLETE) php idiot so that's way out of the question for me =)

c) Where is the MODS download section?  or where can I get a list of the mods available?  It's all quite confusing.  I've read much of the boards, but haven't found these mods we all speak of! (except in the odd message)

d) Are these mods safe?  Will it mess up my board?

e) What are packages?  I have that option under admin, have no clue what it is =)

The package manager thing in the admin section is what you use to download mods that may be available, select this and then select 'Download Packages'.

You can then browse a paticular server and see what's available. For example: select YaBB.info avatars and click [download] for the megaman avatars. Then click back 3 times - this will take you back to the main view.

Now click browse packages. You should now see:

megaman.as.yp [ Use avatars ] [ List files ] [ Remove ]  

click on 'use avatars' and they will be installed ready for use!

As a general note all packages on the YaBB.info server (and Matt Siegman's) are thoroughly tested.

P.S. You can also remove the avatars/mods using the package manager.

I'm working on the membergroups mod!  It's done, just need's a new facelift!    As soon as that's done, and I get the approval I'll release it!
