Well, I have decided to get this thing out despite not squeezing everything in.  We could hold it back and hold it back while we keep adding things but I think it's important to get it out to all of you

Some new features:

Custom Titles
Report to Moderator
Announcement Boards
Error Log
User Post Lock (optional now)
Topic Summary Posts
Package Manager (updated)
SSI.php

Some of the larger bug fixes:

Apostrophes
Cookies
Implode error for template
Table prefix on install

There are many others (check http://www.yabb.info/bugs ) and there were a few that were not resolved yet but we will continue to move forward with that as well.

What are we waiting for?  I am going to get Matt to go over his package manager to make sure we've got it all there and then we should be good to go

As for my older and younger computer counterparts. Lets all give Jeff, ZEF, JO JO FUNG, and of course..MATTY PATTY a round of applause.

All they need to program now is my dam NATIONALITY MOD!!!! and things will be perfect lol

Sounds very good..   I still think it's missing a add more member groups section. Bit like dOCda's Perl one. All the other competant BBS have theirs built in. And since I think it'll be a long time before anyone makes this a package, it would be good if it was part of the whole package  
I'd say the same about the smilies, but since that package is done, it could be put in a later version when all the final touch's are made to it. Matt's version is lacking a good few features which i'm putting together for the Perl version, so I'll try get it in PHP too..

Software was designed to be free. Hackers mission is not to make money but to make information free to the people.   Yabb is a demonstration of that freedom. More membergroups?  There are custom titles coming out...

Not this again! There are big differences between custom titles and more member groups.

For the membergroups:
You can choose how many posts a user needs to get to the next membergroup. Instead of the default 5 groups you can add new groups, their names and post count, the number of stars they will display, what colour star they display etc.

For Custom titles:
All Moderators should be able to change their own custom title. It should have two levels:
Name
:Custom Title:
:Moderator:

Just like vB. Also each user who gets, say 2000 posts is now able to choose their own custom title! Including changing its colour. Understand? If not ICQ me, I'll show you what I mean in more detail..

It's bluddy hard to write though!
I understand how to do it in Perl, and now that I'm learning PHP I hope to know how to do it that way too, but there are a few bits that worry me, a few strings that I don't know how PHP does.. It's pretty famn annoying. I *could* do a cut down version for YaBB SE, but it would have to be a built in package.. It's too complicated to make it a mod file...
