I think "YaBBons" sounds either too Childish or too Corporate. It would make YaBB SE look like one of these corporations thats so full of themselves they have to come up with a cute little name for everything that already has a good name.

I know thats not the motivation behind it, but I think thats the way it will be perceived by many. I think we should stick with "Mods" -- thats what people who are used to, and besides, remember that most YaBB SE users are converted YaBB 1 Gold users. They will be looking for Mods, Mods, Mods -- they will not have a clue what YaBBons are.

I say stick with Mods, as in Modifications! I think "Hacks" sounds ridiculous, like we're maliciously tearing the board apart. Add-Ons sounds kinda dorky too IMHO... its just TOO straightforward.

No, Stick with "Mods." Everyone will know what you're talking about, and it sounds best the way it is.

Some of you bring out very interesting points - the corporate thing, I guess you are kinda right, but on the other hand in the long run - think about it. Peeps are gonna start looking for yabbons for Vb or some other stupid thing when yabbons become so good that it is the standard.

I don't think it's childish though, hacks is childish, YabbOns is not.

Mods I guess will stay as the original thing for a while, and then who knows, maybe some vb dude will think of vbons.

Again no offence intended, but I really feel bad about "yabbon".
When I stumbled across YaBB, I immediately fell in love with it.
There are three words, that will never again vanish from my mind. The first is "YaBB", the second is "mod" and the third is "sex" (although I'm not quite sure if this was really related to YaBB).

Maybe now you understand why I don't want to get rid of my beloved "mods".
