Where it says

"Hey, $username, You have * messages."
I think it would be better if it displayed only new messages like "Hey, $username, you have * new messages"

or have like it is at the moment with the New icon next to it.

anyone else agree?

Currently there is no way to mark new messages.  It would be an easy enough hack though guys...

It may be easy, but I'm afraid I haven't figured it out yet. I've tried. True, I'm new to PHP.. but still. Any advice from a master, Jeff?

Add e table comlumn: value 1 if you have read, value 0 if new, then use this new var to do queries and display total/new messages :)

My problem is, I never know where in the YaBB SE code to find this sort of thing.. so I never know which code to change.

Someday, someone should start a knowledge base or tutorial or some other form of documentation that documents exactly where everything is in the code and what everything does. Now THAT would be a nice feature. ;)

the new and old message hack is simple!  Just like Godai said, just add a new field to the message table!

I'm planning on making this mod, but I was told to wake till the new release of the new IM script!

But if it doesn't include it, I will be adding it!  :)

And also I may do a big hack to the file if it doesn't have the look I want!  (Kind of like looking at e-mails, click on the IM you want to read kind of deal!)  :)
