Is there a mod available to send someone that is online a message from another user that is online as well. This would nice to have especially when someone doesn't have ICQ or MSN and you want to say something to them.

There is a Mod for YaBB 1 Gold that sends a pop-up notification box whenever you have a new (unread) message. I'd love to have this feature (assuming we had a New Messages feature). But it would only work if you were logged into the board.. you wouldn't get the notification until you loaded a new page on the board.. and of course, it will not be possible until there is a New Message feature with the Instant Messaging system.

What I'm looking for is somelike winpopup. Just something to send a message to someone that's on-line. The Instant Message would work providing the other person is looking at it. I myself look when I first login and that's about it though.

I love that feature on YaBB Gold
It would be cool in YaBB SE too :)

This pop-up notification thing would be really nice. Don't need a chat program, just a way to let someone know they have a message in their instant message box.

Let me make sure I have this right.  You want something that will allow you to send an Instant Message to another user that is online but NOT logged in to the board?

If I got the drift of what you want then all I can say is GOOD LUCK!  MSN or ICQ will do that for you but you can't expect to be able to do that from within YaBB SE.

cheers.........

The person being messaged would have to be logged in in order for this thing to work. Without being logged in the forum would not know who you are.

Who is updating it, what thread discusses it the most, and what new features are definitely planned?

It WAS in the works but one of the developers had some personal problems to tend to.  Therefore, it won't be in this release (unless one of us gives up sleep over the next few days to get it out).  It would have allowed for personal folders and more - not sure all what was going into it.

Darn :( I really would like a more feature-rich IM system. Sounds like it won't be in the release though.. well, i hope whichever developer you're referring things is able to work everything out.. and meanwhile maybe you guys, or someone, can work on it more once the service pack or whatever is out.
