i have downloaded php and mysql and all the other files (i think)could someone please tell me blow by blow what i do now to get it to work. it need s to be basic as i can do html but little els:)

i want to use tripod as my hoast thing is this ok?

You do not install PHP and mySQL your host does.

in the case of Tripod.com (free hosting) they dont provide and will not install PHP and mySQL.


You can setup your own computer to be a webserver. but that takes time. and if you dont really get computers much i suggest that you dont try.

But in a little while look for a Tutorial i've written on howto setup everything on a windows computer.

no, just leave your computer on(and online) a lot and you've got your own hosting, just get a DNS name (
