I am getting the following error message. I can't tell how many users are connected but I don't think it is more than 10. Any suggestions?

An Error Has Occurred!

2: Too many connections

Are there any other programs accessing MySQL on your system?

it's not the number of users that' the problem - it's the number of open connections.

Could you look at the chat program, and make sure it's connection to the server is using connect() not pconnect() ?? pconnect opens a consistent connection, which will eat up available connections.

The chat program uses connect().

I can just make another database for the chat program but not sure how to have it use the same users with two different databases. Is there a way to share tables?

Oh well this isn't a yabbse problem. Thanks for your help I appreciate it.
