You can type in what ever you want them to be... Beta Tester, Special Person, Famous Person, etc.

And in the person's profile near the bottom of the edit page, in a drop box you can set the memebergroup you wish the person to have.

Mind you nothing special happens except they have the new membergroup name listed in there profile.

No if you just want to change the name of the membergroups per post level you can, in the AdminCP.

Now if you want to add more levels in per post, say like every 50 posts is a brand new level you will have to edit the code and add them in.

I need to give an admin a custom title.

He still needs to be an admin, but wants the custom title "Forum Mechanic"

How can i do this, without them losing admin facilities, and gaining a newbie tag?

Thanks

it's not in a file. It's in the db - go to edit membergroups.

You can't - that's an old Y1G mod - which hasn't been ported yet.

he meant you'd have to manually modify the php files on your own.

If you really want to - it would be Load.php specifically the LoadUserDisplay function.

Simply as i stated, go into the AdminCP -> Edit Membergroups; Change the name 'Administrator' in the top field to 'Forum Mechanic'.

Nothing bad will happen, Admin's will remain Admin's but there display name will be 'Forum Mechanic' instead of Administator. (This is the only current way to do this, without the admin loosing his admin rights.)

Thats smart....  ::)  ;D  YaBB1G is in Perl, YaBB SE is in PHP.

lol, couldn't find that anywhere!  Is there some stupidly obvious place where it says YaBB Gold mods wont work with SE?

Errm, i think i'll have to wait for a hack
It's my dad's forums, he wants Administrator as his title.  To try to distinguish them, i wanted Forum Mechanic for mine.

But it looks as if that isn't possible at the moment.

BTW..Why can't i register??  It says you have registered when i sign up, but then when i try to login, it says Username does not exist!  I can then go and register the name again!  What's happening
