If I already have content in a database

I noticed that it says that the content could be lost.  HOw many people have installed to a database already filled with table, records, etc?

if you use a database prefix, it's pretty unlikely.

I have some really important content in my data base, so I need to know for sure if it will delete everything.

It doesn't delete anything.  It creates tables.  Make a backup of your stuff if you're overly concerned.
