Can I add a link to the main menu bar?

Hi, I'd like to add a link to my website and to my calendar in the menu bar that's placed at the top of the board. Is it possible to add a link there, and in what file do I have to do that? When I make a change to that menu bar by adding another link could I get into trouble later when adding mods or is there no danger about changing the menu bar?
