no worries. but it does sound like you have 2 convertions into the same data base which may be causing this.

which is why I would drop the yaBBSE (if thats the prefix you used)  tables from the data base and install again. and no it doesn't wipe out your old cgi-board. well it didn't for me anyway.

ok this maybe where you went wrong.

when you get to this page first

you need to put in where the new forum is going not the old forum URL.

and you leave everything blank here and put a tick in the box.

then click on coverting an existing board on the next step. which it then usually finds the old board by default, but do check the URL's there.

then the next step be carefull to put the right URL in. it must be where your new board is going.

and this part is up to you.

I know this is rehashing things. but there might be something you missed here.

That makes sense.  I did just the opposite.  I put in the old URL paths thinking this is how it grabs the information from the old forum and puts it into the new forum.

I also filled out the account information and checked off the tick.

So how does it know where to find all the information from the old forums and transfer it to the new ones?

OK Razgo, Jeff Lewis, or Joseph,

I'm attempting this again.  I am at the first stage after installling the yabbse package.  The next step is asking me for my server info and the last one is asking me for a prefix it says that I can leave this blank?  Is this OK to leave blank?

Yes it is perfectly ok to leave it blank.  If you have other tables named members etc in the database, that is why you may want to use the prefix.

OK it seemed to work great except none of the images from the new forum are showing up.  Why is that?  Here is the link http://www.performance-shop.com/yabbse/index.php

Ok, it looks like you don't have all of the images uploaded.  Notice that your admin.gif image shows up but the others don't.  Check your images directory to make sure all images are there.

As for the error on crash, I changed your images path and saved fine...

Ok all the images are there and stuff now.  I deleted everything and re-did the install and now everything looks OK but I still can't access the admin tool.  I can login but once I attempt to access the admin tool it gives me this error.

Ok, now I believe you need this thread:

http://www.yabb.info/community/index.php?board=135;action=display;threadid=2563

It deals with cookies and not staying logged in.  I can go on your site, login as admin, move around in there, I changed the news (added a line that says "It works for me Brad"), moved around the boards, back into admin, all was well.

See if the thread above can help you now ;)
