I thought today would be a good day to try and convert my YaBB gold to SE and things didn't go so well.  I followed the step by step instructions and when I hit proceed I got this error message.

Warning: Access denied for user: 'performance-shop@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /www/performance-shop/install.php on line 175

Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'performance-shop@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /www/performance-shop/install.php on line 175

Ok the conversion seems to have completed but I am left with a blank page with a banner at the top that says YaBB SE Installer? This was at step 4 which seem to have taken about 45 minutes to complete.

I went to the dir. I created called yabbse and inside all I see is settings.php  What next?

sounds like you tried to convert without first having an installation.  YaBB SE needs to be isntalled before you can convert.

I was told that all I had to do was upload the three files in the download and then run the install.php?  Is this not right?

Ok I started over and I am having success.  I am at the page that asks for the Board URL, Images URL and the Faces URL.  Do I give it the old URL names from the existing gold version?

This is right - but it looks like you tried to convert into a different directory than you installed to.

If your install was successful - you'd have a lot more files that jsut Settings.php.

If you convert into a different folder, however, settings.php is likely the only one that will be generated, as it's the only file that is written to.

if it's asking for all those - then yes, use the ones from your old Y1G install.

that depends which stage your up to as it asks for your url etc... for the new location as well. I think that came first from memory? then you start the convertion pages.

Do I want to or not want to setup an admin account?  It asks me Only check this if you DON'T want to set up an admin account. Most likely this will only happen if you intend to continue and convert an existing Y1G board.

Does this mean check it off?
