Having a default avatar selcted for members

YaBB SE Version: 1.5.1 Final
PHP Version: 4.3.4
MySQL Version: 3.23.x
Server Platform: Windows 2000, XP, or 2003
Link to Forum: techchatter.servehttp.com/yabbse/index.php

Problem Description:
I have searched the forums here and cannot find the answer I am looking for. I would like to have a default avatar selected for members who register but DON't choose an avatar. I am very tired of seeing the "red x's" that appear when someone hasn't selected an avatar.

Is there a simple fix for this...I have an avatar the I have created called "noimage.gif" I would like it to be default for users who don't select their avatar.

Please help,

Thanks.

If they don't select their avatar then by default it uses blank.gif.

It should not be showing an x at all if they don't choose an avatar unless you uploaded blank.gif in the wrong mode(it needs to be uploaded in binary). Or if you didn't upload blank.gif then it would not work either.

Thanks Chris,

That was the problem exactly. The "blank.gif" avatar was missing altogether. I must have deleted it or something.

I just renamed the avatar that I want to be default to "blank.gif" and my problem was solved.

Thanks again,
