PHP Version: 4.3.2
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Macintosh

Problem Description:
Hi
I have  :-[ well...  :-[ forgotton my password...
Can anyone tell me how I can retreive it? The built-in password emailing system wont work (never set it up:() and I don't have a secret question... Damn... :-[

Easiest option would be to reregister and use admin restore from http://www.yabbse.org/jeffstools/ to make your new account an admin account then reset the pass of your old account.

Alternative solution (works only in releases earlier than 1.5.4 as [Unknown] pointed out below): Since the user is still an admin it can be done without the adminrestore tool. As Ben wrote register a new user with a new password. Enter phpmyadmin and copy the encrypted password from this new user into the password field of your admin user. Now your admin has the same password as this new user...

This won't work in 1.5.4 and above, because the username is used to encrypt the password.

How about go in to the member details in phpmyadmin, enter a valid email address and then get the forum to send a reminder to the email address using the "forgot your password" feature ?
