I'm looking for a what to allow users to upload files.  I noticed that there are forums out there that allow this ie. Web Wiz.  This would be helpful to me and the usage of my forum.  I am using SE 1.5.4

Couldn't you use the built in attachments mod?

Perhaps set up a specific board that you can upload to?

Maybe, but from what I see only the admin can attach files and I'm looking for something that would allow users to upload files.

All users can attach files if you have your settings allow them to do so.

Can you tell me how I do that, I've looked, and I probably missed it, but I can't seem to see how to do that.

I'm new with SE.

Go in to your Admin, and select Installed 'Mods' Settings and Options.  About 2/3 of the way down, you will see the options for the Attachments.  Look for the setting Restrict attachments to member groups.  It will probably already have Administrators.  You can either remove that text, or you can create a new group and add each member to that group.  One other possibility you can do is assign only groups with x number of posts can post attachments.  (I would recommend something like this to prevent hackers or other 'trouble makers' from uploading bad things to your server.  You can type in multiple group names, seperated by a comma ','.  You can also click on the '!' and select multiple groups, just remember to type in Administrators again.

You can do this through the member's profile.  You as an Administrator can modify anything about a person's profile, including which member group they belong to.  I'm not sure if you can multiple member groups for assigned to each member, but I do know that is where you 'class' you members at.

You can modifiy a members profile either by going into the Admin section, then View/Delete members, or you can go to the Member List and do it from there.
