You can set AcceptPathInfo On in your .htaccess as long as your host has AllowOverride turned on (they should, otherwise .htaccess wouldn't work at all)

.Htaccess is not the recomended method of turning it on, but you can do it that way.

PPCR is on IIS, but I have two other Linux servers and I would like to know, if they support the Smart Urls :).

I cant do this on a windows server though (invalid filename) even if I have apache and php.

I can access php.ini and stuff on the server though, can I set it there?

You can't do it in php.ini.  If you can access that, tho, can't you access httpd.conf?

I'm really excited about this mod, but I'm having trouble installing it.  In boardmod I get errors related to my ManageCats.php and ManageBoards.php files (steps 11, 15-25).

The first error (in the ManageCats.php file) is that I have "catAllowCollapse" in my file.  Does this mean I have an incompatible mod installed?  The only mod I installed is the supermod.

If I have to uninstall the supermod to get this to work, how would I do that?

The only mod I installed is the supermod.

Super mod is a compilation of like 20+ mods in one.

You will need to install the mod manually.

Put
AcceptPathInfo On
Inside the directory container for the root directory of your virtual site.

Is this thread showing up formatted seriously weird for anyone else?  I'm seeing a couple of posts quashed down to half the width of the rest and right aligned.

for me too... I think the problem is in reply 19, a misplaced tag... a moderator or him could fix it editing the message

I decided to change the format of the url to different ones, depending on the user's need:

IIS - http://domain.tld/yabbse/index.php?sUrl=12345-20
(only one var, with a similar format to the one used in this bbs)

lookback - http://domain.tld/yabbse/index.php/t12345-20.htm
(this is the one available in the current release)

mod_rewrite - http://domain.tld/t12345-20.htm
(pretty similar to the prior one, but without the yabbse/index.php part)

the relative_url function will be replaced with a much faster way of changing the urls to threads and boards from full ones to absolute to improve indexing

and will also include an optional code for those who can't use preg_replace_callback() in their servers, for whatever reason that is

I think that's about it... I hope to have it soon... have been loaded with work and couldn't work on it these days

So does that mean it will work on Apache 2?  If so,

Ok, I fixed it, not sure why it messed up though.

Omar,

What do you mean "manually".  I could manually edit the files that boardmod has trouble with, but I'm worried that if I take out the non-matching parts my previous mods (the supermod) won't function - or worse my whole board will not function.  (I'm not skilled in editing code.)

If anyone knows which mod "catAllowCollapse" belongs to, I could try to uninstall that mod only.  Then I think boardmod would work.

It seems like the best solution would be for me to get rid of the supermod all together, but I don't know how to do that.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should have a section in httpd.conf that has

<directory "/path/to/your/site">
Options +ExecCGI
AddHandler cgi-script cgi pl

AllowOveride All

Some
Other
Settings

</directory>

You need to put it in between the <directory> tags.  There are different ways to set up httpd.conf, so yours may not be exactly like that, but should be similar.

If you need help, email me a copy of the file, and I'll take a look at it.

Thanks

I found this

<Directory "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs">

#
# This may also be "None", "All", or any combination of "Indexes",
# "Includes", "FollowSymLinks", "ExecCGI", or "MultiViews".
#
# Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All"
# doesn't give it to you.
#
   Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews

#
# This controls which options the .htaccess files in directories can
# override. Can also be "All", or any combination of "Options", "FileInfo",
# "AuthConfig", and "Limit"
#
   AllowOverride All

#
# Controls who can get stuff from this server.
#
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all
</Directory>

And changed it to this

<Directory "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs">

   AcceptPathInfo On

#
# Controls who can get stuff from this server.
#
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all
</Directory>

But now that I've done that, Apache wont load and says it didn't give an error, it just wont load. If I remove the extra line, then it works again, but the thing isn't changed

Any ideas?
