by filter, i mean Google doesn't seem to put them in their display url's.  like all the threads in your site do not seem to show the session id when I do a site search on google.  but then they do show when I go to the site in person.

since the forum previously did not display session id in the url, even when a guest visited, that seems to show that there must be something in the mod that causes it to show.  why can't we just duplicate the method which was previously used for not showing session id?

so far, all the keyword options are working, in forum, category, and board.  I'm not sure how that title keyword is supposed to work?

the keywords in the title should appear like described in the release of version two... I must've done something wrong... hold on... try this

Just wanted to say thanks. I have 1.0 installed and it's been working great. gonna install 2.0 soon. This mod is the only one on my site I didn't write, and the only mod I think should be installed on every Yabb board out there. A big thumbs up!

I just installed it on mine.  This is awesome!  It doesn't crash apache, and it's fast          

Board mod failed on all but 4 steps, so I had to do it manually, but that's probably my fault, since my code has been hacked on so many times.

One minor thing I noticed, in the link tree, there is no anchors for the catagories.

One more thing for you - the counter - shouldn't that be visible only to admins?  It seems to show all the time if it's turned on.

oh, that was before, I thought it'd leave it visible together with the page generation time... I reasoned that if you didn't mind showing one, you wouldn't mind showing the other hehe... I'll fix that so that it always shows the counter for the admin and only to the rest if the counter setting is checked

Actually, I think the problem was in my PHP/Apache install.  I was using the default RedHat9 installation.  A few days ago, I compiled Apache 2.0.48 and PHP 4.3.4 from source, and things work a lot better now.


Also, on the issue with eliminating the script name from the URL - I researched it,  I don't think that's possible.

The closest thing I've come up with is:

That basically take the URL and invisibly inserts index.php after the host name.  Problem is, your images end up getting rewritten like http://www.domain.tld/index.php/images/myimage.gif and none of them work.

No, if you put all of the images, stylesheets, attachments, js files, etc, under a different directory or subdomain, I think it would work.  Basically, you would have to never have a URL to anything but index.php in your main forum directory.

For example:
Forum at http://www.domain.tld/forum/
Images and stuff at http://www.domain.tld/forumfiles/

OR:
Forum at http://forum.domain.tld/
Images and stuff at http://www.domain.tld/

Would work

Forum at http://www.domain.tld/forum/

no, it was my mistake, using $modSettings['sUrl_fileExt'] instead of $modSettings['sUrl_kwTitleSep'] when defining $kwTitleSep

and also, when changing $board to $currentboard, I hit replace all in Edit+ and the $boardCat array's name was changed too, so those keywords wouldn't show either

I think the title part will work fine now

well... I'm trying to stay away from changing every url, that's what I was doing before and was way slower in relative_url, so I'll stick to this way of doing it, only modifying urls in links to boards and threads

can't you use a regex to detect only those urls and rewrite them? you could use the file extension in modsettings to identify them maybe, or the kw for the whole community, which will only be used in those urls, or a combination of both... if not using neither of them, maybe detecting the new format for boards or threads...  \/(b|t)([0-9]+) maybe?

that seems to be working for you now, maybe because of the fix I suggested... I changed that in the mod file as well

I updated the link to the mod in the first post, it's now version 2.1 since I've done a few fixes and it was still using the same version number... I have to learn how to version properly
