YaBB SE Version: 1.5.3
PHP Version: <= 4.1.0
MySQL Version: <= 3.21.x
Server Platform: Windows
Link to Forum: http://www.skaggisland.com/skaggbb/index.php

Problem Description:
My problem:  my co-admin can't get onto the forum.  He says he gets this error msg:

"Database error.  Please try again.  If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator."

He discovered this after making a post which would not save on his machine.  The title and time of post appeared in a link as usual, but when I clicked the link, I got this error msg:

"2: mysql_query(): Unable to save result set
(/home/htdocs/users/../Sources/Display.php ln 554"

I don't have a heck of a lot of expertise in programming.  I always pray that problems fall within my tiny sphere of knowledge, but this one has me stumped.   I've often got sql errors in line 61 or some such, that won't allow me access, but they usually right themselves in 5 - 10 minutes.  This is the first time I've seen either of those errors above.  I'd appreciate any help!

Well, you should upgrade both PHP and MySQL..

As well, 1.5.4 is the current release.

Can you look at your error log?

Oh, error log is easy.   :-[  I confess I don't know where to look to see what versions php and mysql I'm running, but I presume they are whatever was currently available at the time 1.5.1SR was released, because that was the version I started with.

These are the errors the user is generating:

Today at 02:42:12pm
/skaggbb/index.php?board=4
Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/htdocs/users/../skaggisland.com/skaggbb/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 191

Today at 02:42:54pm
/skaggbb/index.php
Database Error: Duplicate entry '42' for key 1
File: /home/htdocs/users/../skaggisland.com/skaggbb/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 1061
