I have never downloaded a board so I am utterly confused- What do I do with these three files now?  Something to do with uploading them to my file in my cpanel that supports php, but how do I know which one that is?? ???  I am hosted with Xnull if that helps.  I just dont even know where to begin- Sorry

BTW- I was surprised to see it was ready for download yet- so WTG YaBB SE Team

Sydney, upload it to the folder of your choice in your webspace.  So you can use cpanel or an FTP client to upload it.  There are three files (installer, converter and ya archive).  Run install.php and away you go... ;)

404 means not found. so you haven't entered the correct URL.

Well....in what folder did you put your install files, in respect to the folder you open when you connect to your site-host?

Once you have placed the files there, you will have to start them via the www.
So, use a webbrowser, and type in the address pointing to your site's root directory, and then add the directory you put the files in, followed by install.php.

Now the installer should load in your browser.

It's not that hard...really ;)

One step at a time, and you will succeed :)

So, you are absolutely sure you uploaded the three install files to your xnull account ? Do you know in what directory you have putted it?

Also, try uploading using an FTP client instead of the cpanel file manager...

ok- I am not getting this- The 3 files are in a folder I named itmustbetuesday(name of website) I open the php install and that is where I get lost.

How do I know what the URL of the site will be if I havent added it yet- I want to add it to my exsisting site so that when the fan foru link is clicked on it will open up.  I dont know what to put for the "Install to directory"  I put itmustbetuesday and when I hit enter-nada.  and what the hell is chmod?? sounds like disease lol

I know it is easy for you guys but its like a foreign language to me

I just posted you an IM message, I found your installer.

chmod is setting who can access, and who cannot access a directory. Also, you can set who have the right to write in the directory.

777 is a code, that specifies that the scripts in that directory, can also write in that directory.
