Make sure the images are in that directory, and that they all have read/execute permissions (755 is good).

the avatars are all the avatar dierctory...they loaded before but started getting cranky last week....

will a view of the forum template help?

Check the permission settings of your avatars directory (looks like the x right is missing).

AND: you are using my monkey smiley graphics however I havent seen any credits nor back link wich is part of the TOS.

Create a copy of template.php and name it template.phps (include the s at the end).  Please provide a link to that.
