Get rid of rank images

Problem Description:
Yes, I would like to get rid of those rank images (stars), and I'm not sure how do I do that? Is it possible anyways?

Yeah. If you look in Load.php you'll find $memberstar in the LoadUserDisplay function. If you take those out (just the memberstar lines, should remove the stars. (I recommend just commenting out the lines, in case that doesn't work very well. :\

Ok, I just tried my suggestion and it does indeed work. So feel free to do that and feel...pretty safe...doing it.

Remember that the memberstar function is linked to the karma function somehow.  I haven't actually looked at it yet so I don't know how though.

Though I'm not aware of how the two are linked, doing what I did just comments out the actual display of the star images. Any proccessing code (like calculating numbers and stuff) will still go through, it just won't display the stars images.

btw I would also like to get rid of ranks, basically I just want a username to be displayed (and maybe, some special ranks under certain usernames). I hope you understand me.

By ranks I'm assuming you're talking the post based ranks? (Newbie, Full Member) Easiest way to do this it to go into your admin panel and click on edit membergroups. Then for each one just delete the text.

For certain people to have "special" titles, you have two options.

If you plan on using giving these special titles to people whom you may want to have access to private areas of the board, in that same page (Edit Membergroups) there's a box for additional membergroups. Just write all the membergroups you want, one per line, and save. Then modify the persons profile and select their membergroup from the position pull down box.

If you just want special titles for some people and don't need to grant any special access permissions, I'd just enable custom titles (Admin Center => Installed Mods Settings and Options) and then modify their profile. Towards the top you'll have a text box to input a custom title for them.

Only the admin will be able to assign them. If you'd like them to assign their own, I did write a mod to give this option, it's here

I want no stars at all.

Just replace all the images starting with star (star.gif, staradmin.gif, stargmod.gif, starmod.gif) with 1x1px blank GIFs!
