"members online" -- a few questions
« on: June 23, 2003, 05:19:33 PM »

YaBB SE Version: 1.5.4
PHP Version: 4.3.1
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD
Link to Forum: n/a

Problem Description:
Since I upgraded to 1.5.4, some members and I have noticed issues with the "members online" listings.

When I am on the site and click logout, it shows the "welcome guest" and does log me off, however, the members online continues to show me as being logged in.  This is affecting all accounts it seems.

Any ideas?

Jason

I believe that YaBB SE shows users active in the past 15 minutes.

No, it shouldn't.  At least, it instantly updates on my other 1.5.1 and 1.5.3 boards

Yes, it does.  Any user who has been online in the last 15 minutes.  If you logout explicitly, it removes you, though.

This is because there is no way to tell if you are still online or not.

Okay, well that is the problem.  If we hit "logout" the forum recognizes you as a guest, but your username isn't being logged out of the members online listing

That's the problem and it doesn't do that on my older boards

Yeah, but I don't know why.  You could try making sure LogInOut.php is clean...

LogInOut.php is a Brand new 1.5.4. file (and I just uploaded the update file) which is straight from yse with no modding.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Would it hurt to put back my old loginout file, or is that one of the security fixes?

I also have exactly the same problem as was described by charlottezweb.

When I am on the site and click logout, it shows the "welcome guest" and does log me off, however, the members online continues to show me as being logged in.  This is affecting all accounts.

And my board is brand new 1.5.4 not upgrading from anything.  If anyone has a fix for this please please let me know.
