I'm looking for a mod that allows users to choose whether or not they want words to be censored.

Uhh... I'm not sure of the link, but if it helps the author is Nemesis.  (often searching by member gives better results.)

Hmmmmmm.....it might actually be more useful (for me at least) to be able to only filter certain boards.  Perhaps a checkbox in the edit boards section of the Admin area that would default to filters on but could be turned off?

User Censor mod or something like that. Also, there is "advanced search" on the search page which allows you to be more specific.
