I am trying to set it up where I can send private messages back and forth, and I would also like to be able to send a Welcome message to newly registered users. but I think it has something to do with "SMTP"

Here is an error message I think is linked to most of the problems.

I got this message when I tried to send a private message.

Your SMTP server is not set up correctly.

Please enter a valid domain name.

You need to enter the outgoing mailserver name in there.  If you're using your outgoing server, you should be okay in setting just your email username, though some servers require you to enter in a password as well, especially if your webserver is not on the same server as the mail server.

I am hosting the site off my computer using Apache, PHP, and MySQL.  My ISP is Rogers, It's a High Speed Cable internet company.  Would I have to put their server name or something???
