News fader stopped working

Everything was going good.  but when I logged in this morning, my news fader stopped working.  it just stays frozen at the first message, and it says there's errors on page at the bottom left hand corner in internet explorer.

Did you modify the fader.js script or change its url? Anyway I personally like better the version with the <yabb news> tag. The fader version is not browser resistent in addition. That means disable newsfader in the general board settings and insert the <yabb news> tag into the template instead.

yeah, I was thinking of doing that if I couldn't get the fader to work, but right now I'm at school on an iMac computer, and the fader shows all of the news lines and they just stay there.  the only thing I did was I think I tried to change the color of the text and the background in one of the admin menu's, and I have read somewhere on the "bugs" page on the menu on the left of this page and someone else had the exact same problem.

This happens from what I can tell (please someone correct me if I am wrong) only on the OSX version of IE.  Other browsers seem to work just fine.   You can fix this by replacing in BoardIndex.php:

HOWEVER I really can't tell you what would happen with other browsers it may cause problems.  I can tell you that Windows IE 6.x, Netscape 7.x and Mac Safari Beta 2 and Netscape 7.x don't seem to care at least for me.

Possible you just experience the browser issues. Maybe at your home computer it will just be fine again. Better change to the <yabb news> tag version.

Very odd, I now it's working again on my home PC,  which is very strange.  

But I'm just wondering now if and how I could change the colors. I want the background to be Black, and the text to be white.  what two colors would i have to edit, and how do I get there.  Preferrably through admin options over editing an actual Style sheet or PhP file.

Thats not odd at all, as I wrote above this was to be expected. The fader version of the news is not browser resistent. Switch to the tag version. Color change should be no problem. Just use the right color and css attributes around the <yabb news> tag.

Still not sure, where do I do that at???  is it in the forum template settings?  What exactly would I put?

• 1st: In the "Forum Preferences and Settings" (Admin Menu) uncheck the option "Show News Fader on Board Index?"
• 2nd: add the <yabb news> tag into the file "template.php" (at that positon where you wish to have the news displayed)

That doesn't help me much, I see how it is good to place it where I want it, but I don't see how it would help me change the colors.  like the background color to Black, and the text to white.  where would I do that???

Oh, that's for the regular news bar.  What about the News Fader news??? any way to change the colors to that???

Like I said on sourceforge.

Do not use color names for the fader.  You must use a numeric color.

For example...
Red is #FF0000,
Green is #00FF00.
Blue is #0000FF,
White is #FFFFFF,
Black is #000000

And so on.
