Can't find anything wrong with this.  The only thing that I can suggest that you do is to issue the commands manually.  You'll need to check my script to see how to use YSE's md5_hmac encryption method for getting a password going, and to issue change commands via phpMyAdmin.

As I've said in my original post, it won't work on a Windows machine, so I'll have to take that route.

I wish I had a better answer for you.

I just used it on a test forum and it worked pretty good.  One suggestion is that you give the option to also change the "real name".  You could either provide another text box to enter the new real name and/or a check box to just make the real name the same as the new user name.  Just a thought.

Thanks for the vote, Jack.    If this doesn't get incorporated into SMF, I'll update this and include that feature, as well.
