I have a user that cannot post messages (due to being on a dreamcast) however, I have implemented the quick reply mod - and they can use that effortlessly to answer topics.

Which is fine - they just cant start topics. The are not too bothered about this - and are quite happy that they can at least reply :)

What I dont understand is that they can send IM's - which I thought was the same code as starting a new post?

Could some kind soul explain to me what the key difference between the code that posts IM's and the code that posts messages is?

thanks in advance.

Strange.  I don't think there's any difference, really.  What happens when they try to post?

If they post they get

QuoteFailure in submission of form. Session timeout.

Im not sure what version of Javascript the DC supports - but I thought it could be due to that. - but then doesnt posting messages use the same javascript?

I wonder if Scotty is right about the +'s ?

My brain hurts :(

Thanks guys.

Is there a way I could start a new topic without the +'s? just to test it?
