If anybody knows believes that they know a function that is in subs.php that can be removed let me know. I have removed a few since I posted the last version (will update tonight or tommorrow) but it is still one of the largest files being used and is a problem with mobile devices being 46k all by itself.

Huh?  The size of Subs.php does not affect what gets sent to the phone.

That's only the output.
PM me and I'll give you a link to my implementation of WML/WAP/phone stuff.  Just don't dare to share.

Because of all my mods on the main board (about 20) i decided to do a clean install into the new directory for this one.

works like a charm

normal
Normal board (with lots of mods)

Applying a board subscribe option to this would reduce the length of the board index by 55% - thus making it more pleasent to look at on the mobile device.

Yeh, or even a way so that the forum admin could choose which to display?

Ok, I have been trying to get only a few boards to show via my mobile link.

I have managed to add a field to yabbse_boards called "mobile" which I have set to either "0" or "1"

"0"= don't show on mobile link
"1"= show on mobile link

So, here's the problem(s)  

My php skilz are zero!

1. I had to edit the data fields via phpMyAdmin.
Could you add a field in the edit boards screen to set the "mobile" field to "on" (1) or "off" (0) please?  

2. Could you write an "if" statement so that only the boards that are "on" are shown in via the mobile link?

There are 2 reasons tbh;

1. My boards are many and as [unknown] states, it will reduce bandwidth and scrolling time on a mobile phone allowing just a few main news and information boards.

2. Allow user restricted access boards can be seen by guests.  Disabling these boards on the mobile site would solve this.

Yeah, I will take it out of beta since it is working and people are using it. I will continue to work on it more but updates will be easy so please install now! I'll see what I can do about choosing which boards appear.

I got it installed and it works great.  Some of the screens still need to be slimed down like the main screens.   I'm thinking the profile and admin screen... maybe the post screen.  But it works great.  Just the other night I was with some members that wanted to double check something from the board  on their phone.  They managed to do it with the regular board but it got me thinking I need to install this.  Thanks.

One suggestion for anyone installing this.  Instead of making a copy of your whole yabbse folder, you really only need to copy the main folder and the Sources folder within.  All the others can be pointed to in Settings.php.  This way both boards will always share the help and the board images etc... and it saves server space.

Great job.  I look forward to any improvements that might come along.

What kind of phone are you using? On my t68i it doens't work

They were using a Palm-Powered Kyocera and a web browser.  I don't know much more than that.  I have a t68i as well... but I don't ever use my phone for anything but phone calls.

The mod won't work on pure wml phone. Most of the newer phones can take html and display most codings. For example, this works on my samsung n400 just fine. I am working on an updated post screen and I'll take a look at the admin. Good idea about the redirects!
