Can I just suggest to everyone that they should place a configured robots.txt file in there root to stop search engines from trawling the mobile directory.

That way the Mobile board wont end up on the search engines, but your normal board will

Good idea. Also, if you plan on making admin changes (i.e. moving threads, etc) you will want to set up a bad word filter that will change the url on your main board from YaBBMobile to YaBB, and vice versa on the mobile board. This will prevent the wrong links showing up on the wrong boards. Remember you can always pull up this board in your normal pc browser.

I know its new code and all, but do you think this will be compatible with the sub boards mod?

A mobile screen is a lot smaller and for those of us with long indexes it would make sense.

I uploaded and had a little play last night

Like goosemoose says, There are a few things that he is still working on - but so far it install and ran fine

So far,

I have ripped the gallery out - no need for that in here, in its current incarnation.

The Calendars doesnt work to well, cos the text is forcing the cells to mishape - and it looks kind wrong.

My first thoughts are, that maybe it doesnt matter about the text and the calendar days(numbers) could become links to the messages - for me this would still pose a little problem, as I use the force no post mod. But I am sure that could be got around with an if statement.

I am wondering whether its worth having an option that of not displaying the board index and just having a long list of recent posts? - not to sure about that??? am I crazy?

Anyway, I didnt get too much time to play withit last night - but will have a better go tonight

This is just a thought - I know your in beta, but it may be a nice option to have in the final product.

Wouldnt it be cool, if a user, using there browser - either on the normal board - or mobile device could subscribe to boards? that way it could build up the board index without it becoming too long.

I guess whats really needed is statistics on how many boards visitors uniquely use on an individuals site. I would say my members use around 45% of the sites index ( although spread across the whole range.)

Applying a board subscribe option to this would reduce the length of the board index by 55% - thus making it more pleasent to look at on the mobile device.

Have I made sense?

I think I understand what you are saying. If we could get the subs mod  to work that would accomplish something similar, I'm not sure if cell phones could handle that though.

I am just going to rip the calendar out, I meant to do that in the first place. Unless anyone has objections I don't see a need for it.
