How can I have this changed to no by default? Currently when a new member signs up, the default is yes.

Why do you wish to turn this default value? I am very happy this default was changed to "yes" which is the only which makes sense to me.

You can install the opposite of my "mod":
http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=158;action=display;threadid=12925

Just take the "ALTER TABLE" query and change the default value from "1" to "0".

smacktalk look in Register.php for the INSERT query for new members when they sign up and change the notify field to 0. That is what I do and it seems to work.
