Emails from nowhere?

I'm currently using YaBBSE 1.5.1, and am having a strange problem.

I'm the board administrator, and a lot of people are replying to messages I never sent, and the mail header has my admin email address as the sender.

The messages go something like this:

Envelope-to: admin @ singaporeanimenews.net
Delivery-date: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 20:04:19 +0800
From: "thomas lee" <[email protected]>
To: admin @ singaporeanimenews.net

>(Today at 09:32:56pm) V2-G has sent you the following Instant Message:

Seems like it has something to do with instant  messages, but I have never enabled email notification for anything. What part of YaBBSE creates emails with this kind of header:

Can anyone help?

Which setting takes higher priority, the IM email notification, or 'allow email notification' under the admin panel?

My admin panel email notification is unchecked, is this supposed to disable all email notification?

What is happening is that Member 1 sends a PM to Member 2. Member 2 has notification by email on. They get the email and reply back. But it does not reply back to Member 1, it replies to you the admin because you  (YABBSE) sent the message.

I had this same problem so I just fixed english.lng and the email now has a header that states do not reply to this email... blah... blah..

I've been receiving messages like this everyday now, and it's starting to get annoying. Is there any way to totally disable my forum from sending out notifications in the first place, so people won't have anything to reply to? My admin panel 'email notification' checkbox has never been checked, but apparently my forum is still sending out notifications.

if you are using linux change your emaul function to smtp in forum settings, and vis versa if you are using windows.

(worth a try)
