Passwords for members

I'm running into troubles with old members forgeting their passwords, and the password question answers. When I log on to my data base, all the passwords are encrypted, so I can't tell them what the password is. I've told several to just reregister, but then they get the error for the email already in use. Any suggestions other then deleting their old registrations? I'm new at the whole data base thing, thanks for your time, Lou

They must click the "Forgot password?" link at the login panel...
