Can't change admin profile on 1.5.1

I had an italian version 1.1 (from YaBB Italia Team)
I tried to install 1.5.1 and probably made a mess.
After trying to upgrade (now I know I was wrong)
I ended deleting all DB tables and reinstalling everything.
Now I can't modify my profile. I get this message:

An Error Has Occurred!
2: opendir(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 14298 is not allowed to access /membri/stylettos/yabbise/YaBBImages owned by uid 0
(/membri/stylettos/yabbise/Sources/Profile.php ln 214)

I tried to change permissions on this folder but it doesn't work

Delete the YaBBImages directory and upload it again.
