Unable to use database provided

I keep getting stuck at point in the install where you enter the:

MySQL server name
user name
password
database name
database prefix

I get the message:
Unable to use the provided database!

Please double check this information, and try again. Remember, some hosts add a prefix to your database name.

My server says I've create the user & database fine.

I've tried this 25 times.

I notice that my CHMOD on the 'yabbse' folder keeps chaging back to 755 (from 777). Not sure why. I can't get it to stay.

My server is NOT running safe mode:

http://radified.com/phpinfo.php

Anybody have any ideas?

Not sure if this helps, but from my server info:

MySQL is a true multi-user, multi-threaded SQL (Structured Query Language) database server. SQL is the most popular database language in the world. MySQL is a client/server implementation that consists of a server daemon (mysqld) and many different client programs and libraries.

With your account, you are allowed to create and maintain 5 different MySQL databases with 5 users for each database. Through our web-interface, you can create/delete MySQL databases and create, delete, and grant MySQL users permission to access specific databases.

Please double check this information, and try again. Remember, some hosts add a prefix to your database name.

Those entries might look for example like this:

MySQL server name: localhost
user name: radified_yourdbusername
password: yourdbpassword
database name: radified_yourdbname
database prefix: yabbse_

The example above shows how prefixes would take effect. Your host provides probably some mySql FAQ where you will find the informations if and which prefixes are added by your host.

Thx andrea. It clearly spells out my user name & database name. They user a numver for this:

User: us20899d

Database: db2099d

I made up the pw myself, so I know I entered that correctly (I triple checked it).

Scratching my head. Does this info help:

"For security purposes, CommuniTech.Net does not allow remote connections to the MySQL database server. However, you can connect to your MySQL databases via PHP as well as Perl using DBI and/or the MySQL Perl modules, both of which are provided on your account"

Okay, I looked around & discovered they didn't have priviledges granted. I changed & will try again.
