How to add user to more than one user group?

I was wondering if it is possible to add users to more than one user group? If so, how?

Sorry but there is no current way of doing this. But when YaBBSE2 comes out this will be a feature.

And no there is no set release date of YaBBSE2 so please don't ask.

as chris said, the feature doesnt exist atm, but there's a workaround for it if u want a user to be able to see 2 restricted categories
when u have groupA that can access catA, groupB that can access catB, and u want to assign someone to both groups, u can make a new group: groupAB, and allow that group to access both cats (catA & catB)

does that make sense?

Well, not exactly a clean solution....but it does solves my problem temporaily for the near future.  That's good enough to save my skin  


The reason I needed that is because at the non-profit organisation I work with, there are numerous committees.  And quite a significant number of them do serve on multiple committees.

I took a look at the source & db structure yesterday, and realised it's will require quite some major changes. But  it is a functionality I needed badly......thus I will be writing those codes soon.  

Will post a patch up when done.

I follow all of the above, and it's all good. I go to admin, to Edit Categories, to "Only access for membergroups:", but I can't get it to allow to membergroups to see one category? What am I not doing? Is it the syntax? If I've made two groups, say Board and Committee, and I want Comm to be able to see both, what must I type into the allowed groups list for Board?

u can use the [!] button and select the groups there

I was a dumbass and didn't rtfm - it says quite clearly in the little pop-up window that you must hold down ctrl to select multiple groups.

{ Incidentally, my error could fixed in later releases - I had put GroupA, GroupB - and YaBBSE didn't like the space after the comma. }
