Begin display at specific post number

I would like to be able to refer people to specific posts, but changing the start= in the url doesn't seem to work.  I've also tried passing msgid= in the url, but no luck.  It just starts at the top of that particular topic page.  Granted, that's close to the mark, but I would like to hit it directly.

Is there a (another) way to do this, or have I broken my display.php somehow so that start= isn't doing what it should?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to do it like this.

So set start= and then #msgID

Ah..  I should have known the msgxxxx in the html source was serving as an anchor.
