hanging between step 3 and 4

Hi

I am trying to install 1.5.1 but the installation hangs between step 3 and 4. I just get a blank screen after 15-20 seconds.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you uploaded yse151.ya.

More importantly, make sure it properly extracted yse151.sql.

yse151.sql is extracted.  It is 635 lines long. Is that correct?

Try the safe mode installation.  But also first make sure to chmod the yse directory to 777 per the readme.

A bit more info...

PHP Version 4.1.2
MYSQL 3.23.53

The files are created, but no structure goes into the database (?)

got more time to look into this...

Now I managed to get an error message:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in [deleted]/yabbse/install.php on line 191

Please help  :)

I think that means your host is in safe mode.  Try the safe mode installer.

Thanks - I used the safe mode installation and now I made it to step 5 and get

I kind of gave up :-(

[Unknown] helped me through IM. The problem is my ISP.

I got a forum up and running on another server :)

Seriously - I am amazed by the help you can get here :)

I still hang in  :)

Now I got the temp dir, so what should I change?

In the install_safe.php I can only find the $installdir and I guess I should not change that.
