Mod Info:
This mod gives administrators the ability to mute users so that they may still view messages and receive/send PM's but may not reply to or post new topics.
When muted, one can not:
• post/create new topic
• modify, delete, or lock his/her own post
• create events on calendar
• vote karma
• edit his/her own profile

This mod is the upgrade of the Mute User Mod for YSE 1.4.1 by Jedi~. Thanks to Jedi~ for making the previous versions, and whoever made the Perl version for Y1G.

Download:

Available Translations:

Instructions:
1.) Apply this mod
2.) Run the file "muteusers_dbmod.php" in the package.
3.) Add <yabb mute> in your template where you would like to tell the user if their muted (won't show anything if they aren't.

Install Mod
Upload
Add <tag> to template
run dbmod.php
Go to member profile, mute user
Log in as user
"You have been muted"
Total time 3.45secs!!!

Nice mod, thank you sir.  Works great.  I like this option better than having to ban a user most of the time.  I want the morons to be able to read too

One more question about this.   Does anyone here know how I could make it so that muted users would not be able to view profiles?  If they're muted, I would rather not have my members be able to see profiles either.   I want to avoid them getting email addresses if possible.  I guess I would have to do that in view members too, or anywhere else that an email address can be viewed.  What do you think?

Whoa, just found a bug.  If a muted user goes to modify their profile, and they submit the change, they're no longer muted.  YIKES!

Spaceman.  I was wondering if you could publish the changes you made to make it work again?  I've already got the mod installed and would rather just change what needs to be changed than re-install the mod.

if u're using boardmod, uninstalling the old one and new one will only take about 4 clicks
