[Beta] YaBBpak Creator 1.1

As I would like to see more people making YaBBpaks, I created a little program to help with their creation.  It's still beta, but it should work properly. (tested on Windows 98 and XP.)

I'm planning to either recompile/rewrite/whatever this (ie. in Visual C++ 6.0) or work on it... but, as yet I'm not exactly full of free time.

You can download this for the following platforms:
- Windows (59kb)
- Windows (.NET; interface enhancements; 72kb)
- Windows (Comand Line; 89kb)
-Linux (Source only; 3kb; Thanks jack-uk.!)

For the .NET version, which is just a bit easier to use, you will need the .NET Framework.  To get it, you will need to download the base package, and almost certainly the service pack.

For the other Windows version, you may need the Microsoft Foundation Classes 7.0 (787kb) library.  (some systems may not have it yet.... it's from Microsoft, though.)  Place the files in this zip into the same folder as the YaBBpak Creator, or in your c:\windows\system folder.  (c:\winnt\system32 on NT or 2K, c:\windows\system32 on XP.)

Please give me any suggestions or feedback.  (including bugs.)  I thrive on it.

Thank you,
-[Unknown]

Mind you, I wrote this in C#.... simply because I have not yet written anything in C#.

I will more than likely write a C++ GUI and command line version, this version was just made to play around.

I said that, didn't I?

Updated, with the following fixes.

- If you click Cancel on the save dialog, it bombed.
- Step 2 was lost if you click back.
- duplication of .php file.

Doesn't anyone want to try it?

Meh, only took me a couple hours, and that was because I've never done it with .NET before.  Next I'll make the command line, then gui versions in C++.

Although I'm curious... other than it being a somehwat long download, why would you be less than keen on getting .NET?  It's just like a bigger, slower, less useful version of DirectX.... people get that.

.NET works on 98 SE.  (I meant to put that in my original post: tested on 98 SE and XP)  Go ahead and try it - it's only 200k, zipped down to 65, and it will make distributing the packages MUCH nicer and better.

By the way, next on the feature list is an option to automatically update the packages.list file, using the mod file's info.  (or something, still not sure on it...)

Alright, if anyone so cares, the windows non-.NET version is done.  (although no one likes YaBBpaks for some reason anyway... :/.)

Please tell me if you have any problems.

PS: Added some screenshots too.

I get an error with the Windows version saying I'm missing mfc70.dll.

Fixed, added it to my original post....

For the Windows (non .NET) version, you may need the Microsoft Foundation Classes 7.0 (461kb) library.  (some systems may not have it yet....)  Place this file in the same folder as the YaBBpak Creator, or in your c:\windows\system folder.  (c:\windows\system32 on XP, NT, or 2K)

In short, this is because I'm using Visual Studio .NET, and it really wants me to use 7.0.  I might try forcing it to go with 6....

Added an "Add Folder" button, which adds the folder and all it's contents to the package.

Note: Haven't added it to the .NET package yet.... you will know I have when it says "yabbpak_net11.zip".

Damn you! I'm doing VB in college, and it's damn easy. The BASIC language is pretty easy.

Edit: I got the DLL in the first post, but I'm getting another error. Missing file: MSVCR70.dll
