Ongoing open beta (1.5.1) - Current Build: 45

I just wanted you guys to know that if I download 1.5 and then upgrade to 1.5.1 it works great, but if I download 1.5.1 b44 full install, and try to create a post, I get a javascript error when posting, which keeps me from using any of the buttons like smilies or the buttons above those.

I have tried it on 4 different webservers with the exact same results, so I just thought that might be something you might wanna look into.

Just for those of you who may be having problems with any build of 1.5.1 beta....

Please realize that YaBB SE 1.5.1 is in the open beta phase.  Numerous problems and bugs are found every day, and it is impossible to explain precisely how to fix each and every one.

If you have any problems, PLEASE use the search feature of YaBB SE, because many are found and fixed in the support boards.  If you do not find anything, and believe it to be a bug, not a user issue... please open a bug report at sourceforge.

If you do not like this, please wait for the final version of YaBB SE 1.5.1.  Until then, you must understand that you are beta testing this software.

For me 1.5.1 is far more than a beta. Many issues people are having come from the different server configurations, PHP releases etc.  It is rather understatement to call such issues "bugs".

I was using 1.5 from the first day it came out without having major issues.

I have started using 1.5.1 (rc44).. with the latest supermod. Very impressed by it all. Am working on upgrading my 1.4.1 board now

Please understand, the safe mode install is NOT better than the standard install - it is ONLY for if your host has you in SAFE MODE. (which means they are limiting you.)

With this latest build I am not able to have attachments upload.  I keep getting the following error:

2: OpenDir: No such file or directory (errno 2)

and its only with this recent release.. #45?

Your attachments directory is not set properly.  Please check it.  It should be: home/virtual/site48/fst/var/www/html/yabbse/attachments

Is it safe to download the settings.php and reupload it after an update?

In other words I notice that each time I update my board with the newest build the settings get changed to a default setting. So what I've been doing is taking a bakup of my original settings.php and uploading it instead of going in a changing all the settings through the admin center.

I corrected everything.  I am uncertian as to how the directory changed.  It was pointing to yabbse/attachments  -- then all of sudden it was pointing to a directory that did not exsist.  Also all the files in the attachment directory are gone, however still show under the attachment manager?  I can't figure that one out.  I manage to upload all the missing images.  Just odd how all of suddent it was gone.  It really was there before.   I am open to the fact I could have deleted it all but I don't ever recall touching any of those settings.... Oh well. It's working now.

I AM using the Update Package... but when I run the upgrade.php the settings (i.e. cookie name) get reset to the default. So to keep it the same I always download the current setting.php for my board, then update, the upload the settings so that all the settings stay the same. I'm wondering if it's ok to use the same settings.php or if I need to use the new one that gets regenerated I guess

I checked and double checked the settings.  The uploads can now be found.  

However when I try to upload I get the following error?

the directory home/virtual/site48/fst/var/www/html/yabbse/attachments

Does exsist?  I am now really confused.
