Hi there!
Well, I've been with YaBB SE for quite some time now, and I have once again to congratulate all the programmers: great work!
Just for fun, I installed phpBB today, and I still don't like it. YaBB SE is by far the most intuitive and easiest to use bulletin-board out there - and thank you very much for making it better all the time!
Why I'm posting? For one thing that would be quite important, maybe it's already in planning status.
I get a lot of mails from my users, claiming they get spam mail on the adresses they registered with in my forums. And I can understand quite well, why: when you look at the posts in every forum, you can see beneath the author his email-address. There are unfortunately many crawlers out there, searching the web for those mail-addresses and then writing spam- and ad-mails.
Would it be possible not to display the email-adresses? Or to disfigure them?
For example, once you hover above the email-icon that it shows "bla.bla at
bla.net", instead of "
[email protected]"?
This way, everyone would know that they have to change the address once they click it, but the crawlers wouldn't get it.
Maybe that feature is in store for YaBB SE 2, I don't know.
A quick reply on that would be nice.
Keep up the good work!
Best regards,
VSG
